The Holy Studio

I met Philip Mutemi in the streets of wanderlust diaries. He wrote a piece that caused stir and led to a lot of fuss. If you know the wanderlust diaries you're safe. You may actually go to heaven if Christ comes today. His display picture is of a man seated with arms crossed in what looks like a pub. A man probably past middle age. Looking at him another time, I feel like he has four children. Again looking at him, he doesn’t look like in 2014 he was 20 years old, I mean he almost looks older than my father. He honestly couldn’t be 30 right now. All these observations I made because of how some people in the comment section threw stones at him. So, Philip claims that back in 2014 his 3 cousins, 4 neighbours and himself were to join campus. They were given money to go and buy laptops. What is campus life without a laptop? The next Monday early in the morning they were in Nairobi. There was one cousin who was street smart and managed to convince them the he was well acquainted wi

The Frènch Bible

At times in the homestead, a man should just walk around with a hammer or a pair of pliers. What if you find a loose nail or anything similar ? So my old man saw me walking around with a hammer one evening and called me. Maybe in his head he was like, my son is growing into a responsible man. He then told me, "you know now you're a big person" I mean 'grown up'  I didn't say yes because that's pretty obvious. I'm big. Look at me, I'm  big. I sat on the wooden seat  and his stories came down on me like the walls of Jericho on the 7th day of trumpet blowing.  Boyie, a middle-aged man, back then a CRE teacher at a boys school located in the suburbs of Homa Bay. Many years ago, like in early 80s. A tall chocolate man with a bald head. A reserved man of few words.  Hold on, what age in point of fact defines middle age? I’m yet to see 30 but already feels like I should  be called a middle-aged man. This life has shown me things. In his mid 40s, a famil

Bamboo Pegs

Last year wasn't a very bad year after all. I lived a colourful life. Colourful and bright like my happy socks. I met amazing people ! In the least, I can confidently say my impact was felt somewhere. I wrote pieces here that may have brightened your days. I visited a Children's home. I took someone on a date. I drank alot of water and a little wine. I played in the Sony Mashinani Rugby tournament and won matches, I have a turf burn on the shoulder to show for it. Could be the reward for the conversion I missed at the 5' mark.  I went to lake Naivasha, I went to Kinoru and got stuck in the middle of the forest at 8pm in the night. I ate cakes, danced in a wedding and woke up early to make certain things work. I flew to Qatar (in my fantasy) and lost the world cup with all my teams. Well, I did things at Twenty four. Things that really, were worth doing.  Twenty four taught me that you don't have to hang your clothes with bamboo pegs for them to dry. You can hang them wi
