For life

First, what’s wrong with carrying a live chicken in town? Why do people look at you like you’re presenting before them a human head. Was it just an idle day, or was it the sack that made it look so odd? It wasn’t even a bad sack per se! I didn’t have a better option, trust me, the sack was the best coz carrying it with it’s legs would have made me lose a few friends. Also, if we don’t carry live chicken here on earth where will we carry them? We got to do what we have to do because life is one. Lastly on first, people should mind their own business…

Second, what matters in life?

Thinking liberally, independent of religious strings, societal normalcy and cultural standards. You matter, but at times even, nothing matters. And other times, everything matters. Is life short or long? I would say life is life. Not short as we think and not as long as we would anticipate.

Not as long because you can’t forestall your fate. You never know when cotton will be stuffed in your nose, when you’ll be still and immune to cold. You don’t know when you’ll go to bed and never see another sunrise, because the roof perished on you or the gas chose to explode at 2.03 am for nothing. A drunk driver could as well be the determinant in a blink. We share the planet with uncertainties and possibilities.

Not short because we want to try an experiment… For five days you’re going to confine yourself in a room. Keep the phone, the TV, computer, any other device and internet away. No book, no magazine to read, no nothing. You alone, just do nothing. If staring at the walls is nothing you’re going to do that. No sleeping pills. Enough food, water and a bath would do. Don’t even spread the bed, the moment you wake up just start staring at the blank space. Just sit and wait for the 5 days to elapse. Do nothing for 120 hours.

If you don’t go crazy then I will be convinced life is short. If you don’t desire to go back to your old life, I will be convinced life is short. Compare the five days with the days you would go out with friends, party and travel. Before you go to Chorogascar and return, 3 days shall have elapsed.

Life is not as short and not as long either; we have just discovered means and ways to make it move faster or slowly. Amidst our daily endeavours, we meet uncertainties and possibilities that could be the determinant. Time is relative; you can make it long or short. It all depends …

With a plush interior and impressive tech features and premium music sytem, it might ...

Major Ariel

Ariel studies Chemistry, but is also a footballer who retired prematurely because of a bad knee. A knee that chose chemistry over football. He is a farmer during long holidays. He keeps chicken and milk his father’s cow on a good day. On a bad day he goes to a nearby dusty arena to play football, to see if his knee could have possibly changed its idea about chemistry. Ten minutes into the  game he becomes a living testimony that his knees were actually meant to stand long hours in the chemistry lab doing tests and mixing chemicals to see colour changes, precipitates and what have you that don’t excite me. He is a vocabulary expert and a story teller. He is a fitness aficionado. He is a brother and a son. I can’t prove that he is a boyfriend but I can prove beyond any limits that in the past 7 days he has eaten chapatti at least thrice.  He's authored   THE FAMILY MAN ,   WHAT I WANT , GRIP REAPER ,  J'S COCUNUTS just to mention a handful. He is a huge...
