Bamboo Pegs


Last year wasn't a very bad year after all. I lived a colourful life. Colourful and bright like my happy socks. I met amazing people !

In the least, I can confidently say my impact was felt somewhere. I wrote pieces here that may have brightened your days. I visited a Children's home. I took someone on a date. I drank alot of water and a little wine. I played in the Sony Mashinani Rugby tournament and won matches, I have a turf burn on the shoulder to show for it. Could be the reward for the conversion I missed at the 5' mark. 

I went to lake Naivasha, I went to Kinoru and got stuck in the middle of the forest at 8pm in the night. I ate cakes, danced in a wedding and woke up early to make certain things work. I flew to Qatar (in my fantasy) and lost the world cup with all my teams.

Well, I did things at Twenty four. Things that really, were worth doing. 

Twenty four taught me that you don't have to hang your clothes with bamboo pegs for them to dry. You can hang them without pegs and the wind will carry them elsewhere to dry. 

One of the last reasonable things I bought in 2022 was a set of bamboo pegs. Twenty pieces of bamboo pegs. The last time I saw wooden pegs before then, was years ago when my dad's missus was still a young woman. We owned some wooden pegs besides the cassette radio. 

I walked into the supermarket that afternoon a downhearted man after the insolence wind chose nones but my clothes and bedraggled them on the rooftop. I reached the appalling site only to see my hoodie in the image and likeness of a schmatte. A complete mess.  

Before then, I had a bunch of plastic pegs whose emergence and disappearance I still can't make sense of.

As at now, I have nineteen pieces of bamboo pegs. I gifted a loyal reader one of them. I don't think it's as lame as you are trying to make it look now. When were you even gifted last ?
